Somatic Experiencing
Slowing down, softening, and giving your body space to unwind.

Hi, I’m Sophie, a qualified Yoga and Somatics teacher, and I offer a gentle space for you to slow down, settle, and soothe your nervous system through somatic-based movement and awareness, supporting the release of tension and emotional stress.
I offer private, or two-person sessions, or small group classes.
🌿 What Is Somatic Experiencing?
Somatic Experiencing (SE) is a gentle, body-based approach that helps you release tension, restore balance, and find calm through movement, breath, and awareness.
Instead of focusing on the mind or talking things through, SE works directly with your body’s natural rhythms - particularly the fascia, connective tissue, and nervous system - to ease the patterns that keep you feeling tight, restless, or stuck.
It’s not about big, bold movements or pushing yourself further. In fact, it’s often the smallest, slowest movements that create the greatest release. By working with your body (not against it!) you begin to notice where you hold tension, where there’s space to soften, and how ease can naturally return when given the chance.
🌸 What Does a Session Look Like?
Each session is different, but always gentle and invitational. There’s no set choreography, no right or wrong, no “doing it perfectly.”
I guide you through a simple framework of movements and breath practices that we use to explore what feels nourishing in your body. Every cue is an invitation — you decide what feels right for you in each moment.
This isn’t an exercise class or a challenge (though slowing down can sometimes feel challenging). It’s a space to move at your own pace, explore what your body is communicating (with a sense of curiosity, not judgement), and notice the sense of relief, grounding, and ease that follows.
I offer private, or two-person sessions, or small group classes - providing a supportive, personalised space to explore at the pace that feels right for you.

❄️ Snowglobe Somatics
Because sometimes, life shakes us up — and we need space to let things settle.
I liken the world of somatics to a snowglobe.
We are all the figurine inside the snowglobe.
Life - whether it’s daily stresses, challenges, or excitement - tends to shake us around! The flurry of “snow” can be beautiful, but it can also feel constant and disorienting.
Somatic practice is the still point. The moment when we allow the snow to settle.
As we slow down, breathe, and move gently, clarity begins to return.
The world, and our inner landscape, comes back into focus.
The aim isn’t to keep the snowglobe still forever, but to create moments of pause, of settling, and of calm.
These are the moments where your body and mind can find ease again, even if the snow is still gently drifting.
