Eastern Body Sculpture (Manual Lymphatic Drainage)
A detoxifying full-body treatment to support natural flow, vitality, and balance.

Eastern Body Sculpture — also known as Manual Lymphatic Drainage (MLD) — is a deeply cleansing and restorative treatment that stimulates the body’s natural detoxification and immune processes.
Traditionally, this therapy blends Eastern techniques such as manual lymphatic drainage, meridian acupressure, cupping therapy, and the use of bamboo poles to promote lymphatic flow and energetic balance.
At Daily Holistics, Sophie’s approach is rooted in gentle, intuitive touch — working primarily with the hands, a jade stone massage cup, and flash cupping (brief, rhythmic application of cups) to encourage natural movement through the tissues.
This allows her to feel how the body is responding in real time, adjusting the pressure and pace with care and precision to support your body’s innate rhythm.
You’ll leave feeling lighter, clearer, and deeply replenished. Aftercare is particularly important with MLD, with advice given to encourage further detoxification between sessions.
💧 What Is the Lymphatic System?
You can think of the lymphatic system as the body’s internal cleansing network — like a natural sewage and recycling system that helps you stay healthy and energised.
Its main job is to drain lymph fluid from the body’s tissues, return it to the bloodstream, and carry it to the organs that process and excrete waste. Along the way, the lymphatic system plays a huge role in immune defence, helping your body identify and eliminate anything that doesn’t belong — like bacteria, viruses, and toxins.
Lymph fluid carries white blood cells and nutrients throughout the body, supporting tissue repair and immune response. As it travels, white blood cells within the lymph nodes filter and destroy germs, before the now “clean” lymph continues its journey to nourish and protect the body.

🌿 Why it’s important to keep lymph moving
The body contains 12–15 litres of lymph fluid, and it must keep flowing.
Lymph travels through a network of delicate vessels that contain one-way valves — meaning it can only move in a single direction. When those vessels become sluggish or constricted, lymph fluid can pool with nowhere to go, leading to swelling or oedema, fatigue, or a sense of heaviness in the body.
This is where Eastern Body Sculpture comes in.
The aim of this treatment is to open the lymph nodes before encouraging lymphatic fluid to flow through them. We work carefully to open the nodes first. Next we massage in specific directions around the body, working in the direction of the valves, and toward the nodes. The lymphatic system is stimulated and fluid begins to drain as it is supposed to. The treatment must carried out in a specific sequence for this to happen successfully.
As the lymphatic system is stimulated, fluid begins to move and drain as it’s meant to, helping to reduce stagnation, ease puffiness, and leave you feeling lighter, clearer, and more energised.
